QC & Compliance Manager

Overview

In this role you will support the Operations Manager to ensure smooth, compliant depot operations focused on quality and customer satisfaction. You act as the Depot Management Representative for BRC, VDA, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, driving systems and readiness for audits. You lead internal and external assessments, manage QA processes, and oversee laboratory activities and calibration. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with a strong emphasis on compliance, traceability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide BRC support and lead system implementation as Management Representative for audits
• Support Operations Manager with QMS management and external accreditation visits (BRC, VDA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
• Execute internal audit programme with depot Internal Auditors
• Create Scunthorpe depot HACCP risk assessments and lead HACCP team
• Complete customer questionnaires for both sites timely
• Assist with preparation/completion of customer, supplier and legal audits
• Manage lab trials and new product development
• Oversee Customer Complaint system including investigation and corrective actions
• Analyze materials (raw and finished) per agreed parameters and maintain records
• Ensure calibration of laboratory and site equipment and maintain consumables
• Issue depot Certificates of Analysis in a timely manner
• Liaise with suppliers on quality issues
• Undertake tasks assigned by Line Managers for effective performance
• Lead non-conformance and complaint investigations
• Authorize new site-specific chemicals via risk assessment
• Control quality procedures and document control; implement training plans
• Sign off and oversee outsourced activity under customer verification
• Oversee internal audits for BRC, VDA & ISO

Key requirements

• Level 3 HACCP for Manufacturing
• Certified Internal Auditor
• Certified First Aider
• Health & Safety qualification desirable
• Experience in Chemical Storage and Distribution and Laboratory analysis methods, GLP

• BRC, VDA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 awareness and audit readiness
• HACCP risk assessment and leadership
• Laboratory analysis methods and GLP
• Calibration and maintenance of laboratory and site equipment
• Certificate of Analysis creation and QA document control
• Supplier quality liaison and customer audit coordination
