Overview

In this role you shape how Tesco’s Group structure supports strategy and adapts to market trends over the next 1–3 years. You collaborate with execs and leaders to design clear roles, accountabilities, and structures that enable execution across the organisation. You will balance group objectives with market needs, driving data-led options and a compelling change narrative. This is an opportunity to influence how a major retailer scales and transforms its organisation while working with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Organisation Design expertise aligned to Group objectives and market needs
  • Develop OD blueprints (principles, Work Levels, Job Descriptions) and stay current with best practices
  • Partner with leaders to identify design improvements to meet strategy and financial targets (1–3 years)
  • Advise leaders with data-led role/structure options aligned to OD principles and Tesco Service Model
  • Design roles with clear accountabilities and simple ways of working
  • Build trusted relationships with leaders to assess impact on behaviour, skills, culture, systems, and communication
  • Collaborate with finance partners to align changes with efficiencies and investments
  • Support change case, benefits, and narrative with leaders
  • Lead evaluation of changes to ensure embedding and measure outcomes
  • Adhere to position governance to maintain integrity of roles and structures
  • Maintain and amend position data with managers and provide headcount/structure insights
  • Coordinate with Strategic Workforce Planning for long-term shaping and planned interventions

Key requirements

  • Experience in developing structures in large organisations with cross-functional hand-offs and interdependencies
  • Experience in managing change projects (internal or external)
  • OrgVue experience is highly desirable but not essential
