Lead Product Designer – AI

Overview

In this role, you lead the design of AI-enabled products from concept to scaled delivery, ensuring intuitive and transparent experiences grounded in real user needs. You’ll work in cross-functional squads with PMs, Engineers, Data Scientists and AI specialists, shaping a mature, human-centred AI design approach. You’ll establish best practices and reusable patterns for AI work, from discovery to governance, helping clients and the studio adopt responsible AI. This is a strategic capability within Tangity’s design team with a focus on impact and trust.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end UI/UX for AI-driven features from discovery to delivery
• Shape experiences leveraging machine learning, generative AI or automation
• Translate complex AI capabilities into human-centered interactions
• Define appropriate human-in-the-loop levels for AI products
• Use AI tools in design workflow for research, ideation, prototyping, and iteration
• Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering to craft feasible solutions
• Prototype conversational, predictive, and adaptive interfaces
• Define explainability, feedback, and human oversight patterns
• Facilitate co-creation workshops to identify high-value AI opportunities
• Mentor peers on AI-informed design best practices and workflows
• Present concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Key requirements

• 8+ years of product design experience
• Strong experience in agile, cross-functional squads
• Proven ability to design for ML, generative AI or intelligent automation
• Experience designing conversational, adaptive or predictive interfaces
• Strong UX and interaction design fundamentals
• Proficiency in prototyping complex interactions using Figma
• Experience collaborating with Engineers and Data Scientists
• Solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, including edge cases
• Experience using AI tools within the design workflow
