Operations Director

Overview

As Operations Director in DHL Supply Chain’s Ecommerce and Retail division, you drive end‑to‑end supply chain performance across multiple sites for top UK brands. You lead senior operational teams, set the strategic direction, and steer transformation, automation, and continuous improvement programmes. You will strengthen relationships with major retailers and shape multi‑site decisions that connect sourcing to store execution. This is a fast, dynamic role where you enable efficiency, safety, and excellent customer value through people and process leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire senior operational teams across multiple sites, ensuring clarity of purpose and accountability to deliver the end-to-end strategy
• Set strategic direction for a multi-site operation to optimise, connect, and resiliencethe supply chain from source to store
• Lead transformation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives to unlock efficiency, accuracy, and speed
• Drive supply chain planning excellence, influence replenishment strategies and network stock flow to improve availability and reduce waste
• Conduct structured Gemba activity and performance reviews to identify capability gaps and implement sustainable improvements
• Strengthen executive-level customer relationships with major UK retailers and shape collaborative decisions
• Oversee governance, compliance, and long-term resource planning to support growth and automation readiness
• Collaborate across functions (Supply Chain, Planning, Retail, Transport, IT, Finance) to ensure joined-up decisions
• Assess value delivery across the supply chain, challenge established thinking, and improve connectivity across sourcing, logistics, fulfilment, and retail operations
