Overview
In this role you will support the Data & Analytics Team to prepare data, manage IT systems and processes, and drive the university’s data strategy. You will help move from legacy systems to cloud solutions, raise data literacy, and foster a data-informed culture across the institution. You will collaborate with stakeholders to improve reporting and ensure high-quality data for decision-making. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role with opportunities to develop in data analytics and higher education.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Power BI and Tableau reports to meet internal and external needs
- Coordinate data pipeline refreshes with IT Services to ensure trusted institutional data
- Interpret data and present insights clearly, recommending improvements
- Support Strategic Planning processes (e.g., Student Number Planning, Fee Schedule, Workload Allocation Model)
- Manage team workload via shared mailbox and prioritise actions with the Data & Systems Manager
- Champion data culture through clinics and Reporting and Analytics Community of Practice (RaCoP)
- Advise and train users on Tableau, Power BI, Simitive and related systems
- Support provision of Graduate Outcomes data to OfS
- Coordinate documentation updates and deployment of new reports
- Foster a fair, inclusive workplace and support equality/diversity initiatives
- Support sustainability through resource-efficient practices
- Perform duties in line with SFIA framework and department policies
- Provide administrative support to teams and meetings, including planning and liaison
- Contribute to development and maintenance of policies and documentation
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure compliance
- Maintain release plans and ensure quality, security, and compliance of reports
Key requirements
- Relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience
- Strong literacy and numeracy with data analysis and clear writing
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI or Data Bricks
- Advanced Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint
- Experience with databases, CRM systems or statistical tools
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent organisation and time management; ability to self-start
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to work across teams and manage workload with senior staff
