Equipment Maintenance Engineer

Overview

In this role you will own the sustainment and reliability of Moog’s deployed test systems, spanning mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, and hydraulic components. You will coordinate maintenance, upgrades and obsolescence, collaborating with customers, technicians and engineering teams to keep critical equipment operational and compliant. The position sits within a high-trust, collaborative culture focused on performance and aerospace excellence. You will impact product lifecycle reliability across 150+ test systems and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Resolve production-stopping issues, quality escapes, and yield-limiting faults quickly and effectively
• Manage sustainment work via Maintenance Management System (MMS): logging, tracking, documenting every request, inspection, and activity
• Maintain configuration integrity of deployed test equipment with formal documentation
• Run correlation tests across systems to ensure data accuracy and smooth handovers
• Keep stakeholders and customer updated on progress, risks, and schedules
• Support procurement of spares, sub-assemblies, and services
• Lead obsolescence management: identify ageing components, plan replacements, coordinate upgrades
• Investigate root causes, support audits, and drive corrective actions and non-conformance resolutions
• Champion Health & Safety: write/review risk assessments, enforce safe practices, and act as LOTO competent person
• Drive continuous improvement through lean initiatives and participate in quality audits
• Embed Moog’s culture and values in all actions

Key requirements

• HNC/HND or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant engineering sector — aerospace, test systems, or industrial maintenance
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with sound engineering judgement
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio)
• Willing and able to obtain UK Security Clearance
• Able to work flexibly and outside standard hours to support critical maintenance
