In this role you lead drug delivery and combination product programmes from concept to industrialisation within PA’s life sciences practice. You provide senior technical leadership across engineering, usability, risk and manufacturability, while building trusted client relationships and guiding strategy and delivery on high-impact development programmes. You combine deep mechanical engineering judgment with people leadership to influence projects and client outcomes. Responsibilities
- Lead complex drug delivery and combination product programmes from concept through industrialisation
- Provide senior technical leadership across engineering, usability, risk and manufacturability
- Build trusted relationships with clients and internal teams
- Shape strategy, direction and delivery on high-impact development programmes
- Contribute hands-on to concept generation, mechanical design and technical reviews
- Oversee project delivery including planning, financial control and technical risk management
- Support proposals, business development and follow-on opportunities
- Mentor colleagues and develop the team, with potential for line management responsibilities
Key requirements
- significant experience in medical device and/or drug-device combination product development
- strong background in drug delivery devices and patient-facing combination products
- expertise in mechanical design, actuation, injection moulding, tolerancing and design for manufacture
- good understanding of assembly, sterilisation and transfer towards manufacture
- experience with requirements management, design controls, risk management, verification, validation and testing
- good understanding of usability and human factors
- electro-mechanical experience is a beneficial additional strength
