R&D Tax – IT / Software Consultant

Overview

In this role you join EY’s Global Grants Credits & Incentives team in London to help clients claim R&D tax relief for tech projects. You will work with diverse STEM and tax professionals to interview technical staff, quantify R&D expenditure, and prepare technical reports. You’ll contribute to client service, cross-sector claims, and business development while ensuring high-quality, risk-aware solutions. Responsibilities

• Collaborate in project teams and communicate across skill sets
• Write technical project reports highlighting key R&D factors
• Interview senior technical staff to understand project scope and qualify R&D activity
• Analyze data and calculate project expenditures
• Apply complex problem solving to project execution
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to deliver high-quality service
• Ensure risk and reputation management in advisory delivery
• Adapt knowledge to different sectors while expanding core capabilities

Key requirements

• A degree in computer science, information technology, software development, telecommunications engineering or a related discipline
• At least one year of computer science or software development experience
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with a collaborative style
