HVAC Building Services Engineer

Overview

In this role you will provide expert mechanical building services engineering for pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and process industries. You will establish client requirements and deliver design solutions while guiding projects from feasibility to construction support. You may work on client sites, coordinating with client teams and WSP construction activities. You will focus on cleanrooms, sustainability, and ensuring regulatory compliance to deliver high-quality, cost-conscious outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical building services design solutions aligned with project needs
• Lead technical delivery, cost control, and schedule at all stages
• Perform design, engineering calculations, and technical reviews
• Supervise designers and engineers
• Coordinate with other disciplines
• Prepare cost estimates and man-hour/resource forecasts
• Input to design programmes and provide site construction support
• Develop expertise in cleanrooms and low-carbon solutions
• Review designs for regulatory compliance and quality/safety procedures

Key requirements

• Practical knowledge in design and commissioning of mechanical building services systems
• HVAC for critical environments including pharma/biopharma clean rooms
• cGMP and validation requirements
• Experience with clean room construction and energy efficiency
• Knowledge of building management systems and various utility systems
• Regulatory standards awareness
• Effective team management and collaboration in multi-discipline settings
• Proficiency with relevant building services software packages
• Strong time management and presentation skills
• Problem solving and client-facing communication
