Overview
In this role you lead the Field Surveying and Quality Management within KBR’s Estates Intelligence, overseeing the Building Condition Survey programme across England and Wales. You will build and manage a high-performing field team, align delivery with client requirements and KPIs, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes. You’ll drive standards, metrics, and reporting while expanding survey capabilities and electronic data capture. This is a field-enabled, impact-focused leadership role within a global technical solutions company.
Responsibilities
- Establish and grow a national surveying capability and assist with recruitment and training
- Define and embed standards and methods for surveying to ensure consistent quality
- Collaborate with stakeholders to set metrics, timescales, and processes
- Formalise metrics and reporting approaches with senior management
- Develop client reporting with client, technical staff, and BI teams
- Support development and implementation of electronic capture systems for survey data
- Mobilise the overall survey programme and maintain audit frameworks
- Oversee delivery to meet KPIs, ensure timely outputs, and comply with contractual requirements
- Mentor and develop survey team members and apprentices
- Conduct QA reviews of survey outputs and provide guidance on key findings
- Provide reporting and insights to stakeholders; support client engagement
- Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and outcomes
- Maintain health, safety and compliance with policies and standards
- Communicate effectively with building managers and senior stakeholders
- Manage relationships with internal/external contractors and suppliers
- Possess strong analytical, organizational, and reporting capabilities
Key requirements
- Background in FM, construction, engineering or similar with quality management experience
- Experience leading field-based technical specialists and managing a team
- Familiarity with M&E or building surveys is desirable
- Proven ability to design and manage metrics for quality and productivity
- Experience implementing structured QA procedures and reviewing service delivery against SLAs
- Field-based operations management experience; surveyor background preferred
- Broad technical understanding of the built environment and terminology
- Ability to engage stakeholders and mentor others
- Independent working style with team collaboration
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
- Proficient in building compliance and legislation understanding
- Intermediate IT skills in CAFM systems and MS Office, Power BI
- Full UK Driving Licence and ability to obtain security clearance
- Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, surveying, FM, management or construction; formal QA training; professional body membership
