Underwriting Analyst

Overview

In this role you will perform data-driven analysis of financial portfolios to support investment memorandums and cross-jurisdiction valuations. You will develop and maintain tools for portfolio analysis, collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables, and support stakeholders across levels. You will work in an international environment, contributing to the team’s objectives and growth. Responsibilities

• Data processing, manipulation, analysis, and interpretation of portfolio characteristics
• Support and compile portfolio Investment Memorandums (IMs)
• Support portfolio valuations across different jurisdictions
• Provide support to other team members to ensure knowledge transfer and business objectives are met
• Develop and maintain tools/models/materials to enhance portfolio analysis and valuation
• Ensure outputs are high quality, fit for purpose, and delivered on time; maintain good customer service and stakeholder communication
• Ensure deadlines are met without disruption to the business and decision-making process
• Perform ad hoc tasks as delegated by the Underwriting Manager

Key requirements

• Experience in finance, analytics, consulting or a similar role
• University degree with high marks in Analytical/Financial subject
• Excellent English skills (written and spoken)
• Advanced knowledge of R/SQL/Python or other programming languages
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Statistical experience with large data sets and data modeling techniques
• Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Highly numerate, quick learner, and problem-solver
• Good communicator with ability to interact with different levels of customers/stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure and independently in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and keen to learn and develop
• Willing to go the extra mile to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
