Director – Tax Energy, London/Manchester/Edinburgh

Overview

In this Director role you will lead EY’s Energy ITTS practice, advising major energy players on complex international tax matters and cross-border transactions. You’ll shape client relationships, originate opportunities and drive growth across traditional energy, renewables and infrastructure. You’ll lead cross-border engagements with technical rigour and commercial pragmatism while mentoring high-performing teams. Responsibilities

• Build and expand strategic relationships with key Energy clients, acting as trusted adviser to senior management and committees
• Drive revenue growth by originating, converting and delivering international tax and transaction opportunities
• Develop and execute market initiatives to strengthen EY’s Energy advisory position
• Lead complex cross-border advisory engagements with technical excellence and practical commercial approach
• Collaborate across service lines and geographies to deliver integrated client solutions
• Own engagement economics, profitability and risk management for a portfolio of clients
• Support Energy ITTS growth strategy and broader market leadership initiatives
• Build networks and enhance EY’s profile through thought leadership and industry presence
• Mentor and develop teams, supporting the progression of future leaders
• Sponsor innovation and transformation initiatives across the business

Key requirements

• Allied professional qualification (ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA) or equivalent legal qualification
• Strong international and UK corporate tax experience in a professional services, industry or legal environment
• Experience advising multinational businesses on international tax matters and transactions
• Proven business development and client origination track record
• Experience leading large client accounts and managing senior stakeholders
• Deep understanding of the Energy sector, including traditional energy, renewables, infrastructure or energy transition markets
• Experience leading high-performing teams
