Senior Cost Manager/Associate – Data Centres / Retail / Education / Defense

Overview

In this mid‑senior cost management role, you will develop feasibility studies, cost plans, tender documents, and post‑contract cost control. You’ll lead cost management activities on projects and coordinate with clients, contractors, and the internal team to deliver accurate valuations and cost reporting. The role emphasizes governance, knowledge sharing, and opportunities to drive value engineering. You’ll contribute to client outcomes on diverse construction programmes and shape cost strategies.

Responsibilities

• Produce feasibility studies and procurement reports
• Estimate and cost plan, present final cost plan
• Manage tendering and procurement processes including prequalification and tender analysis
• Handle post‑contract cost variances and change control
• Conduct on-site progress claim assessments and valuations
• Deliver monthly post‑contract cost reports to the Line Manager
• Contribute to value engineering and knowledge management
• Lead a cost management team where appropriate
• Adhere to project governance and internal cost management procedures
• Support business development opportunities with existing clients
• SOX control responsibilities where applicable

Key requirements

• Recognised degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar
• 5+ years of cost management experience in consultancy roles
• Experience managing clients, contractors and consultants
• RICS and AIQS accreditation preferred
• CostX experience preferred
• MS Excel (intermediate to advanced)
• Driving licence
