Lead Clinical Pharmacist

Overview

In this role you will lead the clinical pharmacy service across the Dartford and Medway locality, enabling safe, effective medicines optimisation within mental health inpatients. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to ward rounds, educate patients, and drive audits and service development. The post emphasises leadership, professional development, and on-call clinical duties. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape medicines management across multiple sites and improve patient care.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and development of a comprehensive medicines optimisation service for inpatient wards across the locality
• Implement and monitor clinical pharmacy standards in collaboration with the Lead Pharmacist for Service Development and Chief Pharmacist
• Provide professional and line management to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians within the locality
• Collaborate with other Lead Pharmacists on clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and service development projects
• Undertake education and support for patients, participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds, and contribute to medicines advice
• Support professional development and participate in on-call rota
• Drive improvements aligned with Trust priorities and objectives

Key requirements

• Master’s Degree in Pharmacy
• GPhC registration with at least 5 years post-graduate experience
• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent specialist knowledge
• 2 years’ experience in Mental Health services
• Experience in leading clinical audits and implementing service changes
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary settings and manage staff
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
