Overview
As Site Manager, you will lead site delivery on complex water and highways infrastructure projects within Anglian Water’s one Alliance footprint in Peterborough. You will coordinate subcontractors, resources and day-to-day operations to meet milestones while upholding safety, quality and environmental standards. You’ll work closely with the Construction Manager to ensure smooth handovers and asset readiness, and you’ll drive collaboration, governance and continuous improvement on live sites. This role offers exposure to AMP8-scale programmes and innovative, nature-based solutions that shape resilient water infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate site activities to align with the construction programme and subcontractor performance
- Lead safety, quality and environmental management on site
- Support handover and ensure safe-to-operate standards at DM4
- Maintain site compliance with CSIR, CEIR, CQIR and collaborate with Delivery Assurance Manager
- Monitor budgets with the Cost Manager; approve expenditure, timesheets and GRNs
- Review and approve subcontractor RAMS; manage site requisitions and efficient use of plant/materials
- Own the rework list and drive timely closure for construction assurance
- Collaborate with Project Delivery Team on programme, cost, quality reporting and risk management
- Support change management and accurate use of CCMS for cost control and purchasing
- Liaise with Anglian Water operations for asset transition and readiness
- Lead and motivate the site team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
Key requirements
- Experience managing large-scale construction projects valued at £20m+
- Proven delivery of complex site operations to time, cost, and quality targets
- Strong understanding of HSE and quality standards on live sites
- Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain partners
- Commercial awareness with budgets, cost reporting and procurement systems
- Familiarity with project assurance, governance, change control and risk mitigation
- Ability to lead, engage and develop site teams and manage stakeholder relationships
- Construction-related qualification is desirable
- Experience in alliance or collaborative delivery models; knowledge of CCMS and digital site management tools is advantageous
