Overview
As a Surveyor in JLL’s Property Management team, you will help deliver exceptional property management across assigned assets and support the Centre of Excellence. You will work closely with Asset Managers to sustain strong client relationships and ensure asset performance. You’ll handle occupier and lease-related matters, financial processes, ESG initiatives, and site operations, contributing to client KPIs and risk management. This role offers meaningful impact through cross-functional collaboration, process improvements, and a hands-on approach to portfolio stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key contact for the Asset Manager and maintain professional communication with clients, occupiers and stakeholders
- Assist in preparing client reports and participate in meetings as required
- Support lease and legal tasks including occupier applications and licence matters
- Monitor tenant lease covenants, escalate issues, and assist in resolution
- Support financial processes (charges, income monitoring, arrears with credit control) and maintain records
- Assist with service charge budgets, reconciliations and cash flow forecasts in line with RICS guidelines
- Contribute to ESG initiatives with FM and specialist teams and help implement ESG strategies
- Assist management of third-party suppliers and ensure service delivery meets standards
- Undertake regular property inspections and progress issues for resolution
- Support property transitions, onboarding/offboarding assets and due diligence
- Foster occupier engagement and customer experience initiatives and report feedback to the client
- Support major works, site projects, and coordination with consultants and contractors
- Maintain knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and support compliance across properties
- Assist with insurance renewals and claims administration through to resolution
- Support management of vacant properties in line with client and insurer requirements
- Assist in capturing fee-earning opportunities and contribute to business development
- Support continuous improvement within the team and assist with project-based work
- Identify and help resolve legacy property management issues
Key requirements
- MRICS ideally or recently qualified (preferred)
- Solid experience in property management or a related role
- Good understanding of landlord and tenant matters
- Strong organisational and detail-oriented skills
- Commercial awareness with a proactive problem-solving mindset
- Strong communication skills and relationship-building ability
- Competent IT skills, including property management systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
