Overview
As a Quantitative Analyst in L&G Asset Management, you will build and maintain models and systems to support pricing, portfolio construction, and hedging strategies for Solutions mandates. You will work with Portfolio Management to deliver clear analyses and model risk across fixed income and other assets, aligning with pension liabilities. You’ll lead development of pricing, risk, and analytics tools for derivatives, using SQL, VBA, C#, and Python, and ensure processes integrate smoothly with IT and data capabilities. Your role shapes how we manage risk and create value for pension schemes and clients, in a collaborative, performance‑driven environment.

Responsibilities
- Provide robust analysis for Solutions Portfolio Management under management
- Model risks of asset strategies to match pension scheme liabilities
- Lead development of pricing, risk, portfolio construction, and analytics tools for derivatives
- Develop databases and user interfaces using SQL, VBA, C#, Python
- Represent Portfolio Management in IT and business process projects
- Collaborate with collateral management and derivative pricing teams to streamline processes
- Ensure instruments are priced and analyzed per market conventions and can be reported
- Evaluate collateral usage for collateralised or margined products
- Ensure actions comply with Treating Customers Fairly policy
Key requirements
- Strong academic/professional background in quantitative roles
- Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline desirable
- Knowledge of risk management instruments (gilts, credit, swaps, TRS, swaptions, equity options, futures, FX forwards)
- Interest in markets related to pension schemes and de-risking
- High IT & programming proficiency; familiarity with LLM-supported coding desirable
- Understanding of design, implementation and management of risk strategies for clients
- Ability to engage with Portfolio Managers and stakeholders, work independently, and suggest process improvements
