Quantity Surveyor

Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor in our Derby-based team, you will manage commercial activities across infrastructure projects in the water sector. You’ll balance cost control, forecasting, and procurement while liaising with clients, site teams, and subcontractors to safeguard project value. This role offers hybrid working, a clear pathway for development, and exposure to high-value frameworks. You’ll contribute to risk and opportunity management and support NEC contract administration, shaping outcomes on industry-leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare applications for payment, valuations and cost-value reconciliations
• Forecast project costs and cash flow; monitor through monthly reporting and cost control
• Lead procurement and management of subcontractor/supplier packages
• Support risk, opportunity and value management initiatives
• Provide contract administration support, ideally with NEC forms of contract
• Ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date
• Act as a key liaison with clients, site teams and subcontractors
• Offer commercial and contractual advice to internal stakeholders
• Proactively identify and escalate safety or risk concerns

Key requirements

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
• MRICS or APC (or working towards)
• Experience with a main contractor on infrastructure or civils projects
