Data Governance Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead data ownership and stewardship across the organisation, driving accountable data management along the full data lifecycle. You will connect enterprise governance with on-the-ground, spoke-level delivery and help shape a data ethics framework through policies and impact assessments. This FTC role supports a public sector workstream, focusing on building core data capabilities within the Data Governance Framework. You will work with cross-functional teams to enable compliant, ethical data use at scale.

Responsibilities

• Embed data ownership and stewardship across the data lifecycle
• Drive accountability for data management across the organisation
• Enable delivery of core data capabilities forming the Data Governance Framework (DGF)
• Link enterprise governance with spoke-level implementation
• Create data ethics policy, processes and impact assessments

Key requirements

• Public sector Data Governance experience essential
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and stewardship
• Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, data quality, metadata and compliance
• Experience developing and delivering training programmes
• Experience managing governance projects, coordinating multiple workstreams and supporting organisational change
• Strong knowledge of data ethics, including policies, processes, training and impact assessments
