Overview

In this role you support the UK Independence function within Risk Management, advising on how to apply independence rules to complex scenarios and structuring services compliantly. You will work with senior stakeholders to embed a business-aligned Independence operating model, balancing regulatory rigor with commercial practicality. You help shape continuous improvement across the function and coach others to build capability. This is a chance to influence go-to-market activity while safeguarding the firm’s compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply knowledge of independence requirements and related guidance to advise on service structuring and safeguards.
• Provide timely, sound independence consultations and ensure proper documentation.
• Support independence compliance monitoring (fee cap, fee ratios, PACE, GIS) and use of related tools.
• Support Independence System of Quality Management requirements and contribute to projects.
• Lead specific Independence initiatives and promote continuous improvement and agility.
• Coach and develop others to build expertise and capability.
• Engage with Service Line Leadership, Quality, Professional Practice, and client-facing partners to balance technical rigor with commercial awareness.

Key requirements

• Experience in Risk Management with direct Independence or related regulatory exposure
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to engage with the business as a trusted advisor
• Proven ability to interpret Independence requirements and translate into practical guidance
• Strong analytical and judgment skills with attention to detail
• Highly organized with ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
