Overview
In this role you will drive commercial integrity within the Accelerated Houseblocks Delivery Programme for the Ministry of Justice. You will partner with the programme team to manage NEC4 contracts, support payment processes, and guide commercial decisions to meet contractual obligations. You’ll oversee change management and reporting, while fostering strong relationships with contractors and client teams. The opportunity combines large-scale delivery, modern methods of construction, and a mesh of public-sector stakeholders to create safer, more efficient facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and client teams
- Monitor contractor performance for contractual compliance
- Support interim payment certification with client cost consultants
- Administer contract changes and manage CEMAR workflows
- Contribute to benchmarking and monthly performance reporting
- Participate in commercial meetings, review early warnings and compensation events
- Prepare recommendations for compensation events and client changing board submissions
- Conduct site visits and attend contractor progress meetings
- Engage in client meetings to review proposed changes and entitlements
- Provide commercial support and cost-effective solutions to internal teams and clients
Key requirements
- Demonstrated success in commercial management within construction
- Strong interpersonal skills across client and peer levels up to director
- Solid NEC contract knowledge and collaborative team player
- Accountable, results-driven, service-excellence mindset
- Experience on large schemes delivering multiple packages from design to completion
- Understanding of service excellence and stakeholder engagement

- Degree in a relevant construction related qualification
