Electronic Hardware/Software Design Engineer

Overview

You will deliver RF-conscious hardware and firmware solutions in a multidisciplinary setting. You’ll design and layout PCBs, addressing RF issues and ensuring robust ESD protection while using KiCad or OrCAD. You’ll develop firmware with Embedded C and/or Java/Python, and explore USB/Bluetooth integration. The role offers exposure to MSP430 microcontrollers and potential Android app work, contributing to practical, reliable electronic products.

Responsibilities

• Design and lay out RF PCBs with protective measures (ESD)
• Develop firmware in Embedded C, Java, and Python
• Work with KiCad or OrCAD for PCB design
• Integrate USB and Bluetooth interfaces
• Collaborate on potential Android app development
• Ensure RF issues are mitigated through design choices

Key requirements

• Experience with KiCad or OrCAD
• Experience in RF engineering and RF-based technologies
• Understanding of advanced PCB design and layout with RF precautions and ESD
• Embedded C, Java and Python
• Experience/understanding of USB and Bluetooth
• Experience with Texas Instruments MSP430F microprocessors
• Android App development would be useful but not required
