Senior Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you design, test and optimize firmware for Arm’s reference platforms, working across low-level software and test automation. You’ll build software stacks for future Arm devices and contribute to the firmware and platform verification lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate specs into robust features, while driving upstreaming and maintenance. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape the software ecosystem for next-gen architectures within a pioneering team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to software design and testing of reference application processor firmware
• Perform low-level software development, testing and debugging on models, boards, and shipping products
• Create software stacks for Arm reference platforms for future devices
• Develop test code and automation to streamline testing and development
• Analyze specs and roadmap requirements, decompose tasks and support project plans
• Engage in upstreaming and ongoing maintenance of software
• Support cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality firmware

Key requirements

• Excellent C/C++ programming with ability to add new functionality and fix complex defects
• Some knowledge of assembly and strong debugging skills
• Experience with software testing or development
• Strong understanding of system architecture (preferably ARM), OS fundamentals, bootloaders, and device drivers
• Proficiency with Linux/Windows and driver development (preferred)
• Good understanding of test methodologies, CI and test automation
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written/spoken English
