Overview

In this role you will lead the Banking Financial Management function, driving IFRS-compliant accounting, regulatory reporting and control enhancements. You will manage a seven-person team, partner with Head Office, and own statutory and financial reporting, audits, and risk mitigation. The position offers hybrid work in London and a direct path to shape financial governance in a dynamic banking environment. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure robust controls and insightful reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Accounting team (7 members) and manage performance
• Ensure accounting treatments comply with IFRS, regulatory requirements, and Head Office policies
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls for effectiveness and alignment with Head Office
• Deliver timely, accurate financial and regulatory reporting to Head Office and stakeholders
• Strengthen the financial control framework across the accounting function
• Lead the annual statutory audit and manage external auditor relationships
• Identify, assess and mitigate financial and operational risks within accounting
• Act as the main contact for internal audits, Head Office audits and second-line assurance reviews
• Drive continuous improvements across accounting processes, controls and reporting

Key requirements

• Native-level Mandarin (spoken and written)
• Full right to work in the UK
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Solid banking/financial services accounting experience
• Experience managing accounting teams (4–5 members)
• Experience managing internal and external audit processes
• Strong IFRS and statutory reporting knowledge
• Regulatory reporting experience in financial services
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and decision-making skills
