Overview

In this role you drive high-quality promotional HCP content and scientific platforms, leading key accounts and mentoring the medical writing team. You’ll blend hands-on writing with scientific leadership, editorial oversight, and AI-enabled workflows to deliver compliant, compelling narratives. You’ll collaborate across creative, strategy, digital, and client services to shape integrated campaigns and client strategy. This is a senior, influential position that shapes how the discipline evolves within a globally recognized healthcare agency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead key accounts and contribute to pitches, workshops and strategic discussions
  • Provide senior editorial and scientific oversight and develop junior writers
  • Line manage, coach and mentor Medical Writers
  • Utilize AI tools to improve research, writing, fact checking and editorial workflows
  • Collaborate with Account Management on scoping, resource planning and proposals
  • Work with Creative, Strategy, Digital and Client Services to deliver integrated campaigns
  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical codes, MLR processes and QC, including Veeva

Key requirements

  • Extensive medical/healthcare communications agency experience at Principal level or senior writer with leadership aspirations
  • Hands-on experience developing promotional HCP content
  • Proven ability to lead complex medical writing projects
  • Experience line managing, coaching or mentoring junior writers
  • Excellent editorial, critical appraisal and scientific review skills
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance codes, MLR processes and Veeva
  • Practical experience using AI tools in medical writing or research
  • Confidence to work with clients and contribute to strategic discussions
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced agency environment
