Overview

In this role you will support our Employment & HR practice in the Manchester office, handling a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work for corporate clients. You’ll work closely with a national team, with opportunities to lead client contact, seminars, and written guidance, while developing as a recognised expert. Responsibilities

  • Handle contentious and non-contentious employment matters for employers and some executives/claimants
  • Manage disputes with high-value claims and strategic considerations
  • Draft guidance, advisories, and articles; contribute to seminars and networking events
  • Provide day-to-day employment advice, including disciplinary, grievances, redundancies, and discrimination issues
  • Prepare contracts, policies, handbooks, settlement agreements; support data protection work
  • Engage in business development and client relationship management
  • Ensure compliance with information security and firm policies

Key requirements

  • 3+ PQE
  • Extensive experience in employment law, HR matters and Tribunal cases for employers
  • Experience from case inception to final hearing and managing directions
  • Strong drafting, research, advisory skills; commercial, practical advice
  • Team player with client-care focus; able to support partners and grow the practice
