Ruby Developer – HTML5, Rails Javascript, TDD

Overview

In this role you will contribute to a fintech-led platform by designing, building and evolving Ruby/Rails-based applications that communicate with a Java API. You’ll work in an Agile-flavored team to deliver high‑quality, scalable web solutions and help shape the platform architecture. You’ll stabilise and extend a rapidly developed stack on Linux, AWS and frontend components, with opportunities to influence technology strategy. This is a hands-on, mid to senior role in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new Rails applications in collaboration with the team
• Help architect the platform and contribute to technology strategy
• Design and implement REST APIs
• Build a brand new web platform in Ruby
• Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality
• Stabilise and integrate greenfield functionality with existing Java/AWS-based platform

Key requirements

• 5 years of commercial development experience in Ruby
• Experience designing and building Rails applications
• Ruby, Javascript, HTML5, CSS3
• Working knowledge of Linux
• Mobile application experience beneficial
• Hadoop experience is not required
