Predictive Analytics Lead

Overview

In this role you lead UK Life Branch’s Predictive Analytics initiative, building a data-driven capability to support growth across business lines. You will shape the analytics function, upskill the team, and drive adoption of advanced modelling to influence pricing, protection, and longevity decisions. You will work with cross-functional teams to harness data assets, deliver value, and support the 2030 ambitions. This is a strategic, impact-driven role at Munich Re.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the Predictive Analytics roadmap to create stakeholder value for UKLB and clients
• Establish and lead a mature analytics function, upskilling staff and advancing modelling techniques
• Provide advanced pensioner demographics and mortality basis using new data sets to grow Longevity portfolio
• Support Protection pricing bases by integrating analytics into modelling approaches
• Manage internal data pools to maximize analytical and business value
• Identify analytics-enabled solutions for Protection Business Development across underwriting, claims, and distribution
• Conceptualise and offer analytics products/services across the value chain using methods like GLMs, GAMs, ML
• Lead adoption of innovative analytics techniques to strengthen pricing decisions
• Develop policies and strategy for predictive analytics in Pricing and Terms of Trade
• Collaborate cross-functionally to promote data-driven decision making and train staff on best practices
• Establish data and analytics governance frameworks to ensure quality, security, and regulatory compliance
• Support wider Basis Development priorities when required

Key requirements

• Several years of experience in data analytics within Life and Health reinsurance
• Deep expertise in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling
• Proficiency with R, Python, SAS or similar tools
• Effective written and spoken communication and senior stakeholder management
• Excellent presentation skills; ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences
• Consulting or project management experience is a plus
