Registered Hospital Manager (HIW Registered Person)

In this role you lead Seren Gobaith, a state-of-the-art mental health hospital, ensuring safe, recovery-focused care across five wards. You will model values-driven leadership, uphold regulatory standards, and champion Welsh language services. Responsibilities

• Act as the HIW Registered Manager, ensure regulatory compliance and inspection readiness
• Provide visible clinical leadership across five wards with a focus on safety, effectiveness and recovery
• Embed clinical governance, safeguarding, quality assurance and risk management frameworks
• Oversee a flexible staffing model and budget/resource allocation across five wards
• Champion Active Offer and Welsh language standards in patient-facing services
• Manage financials, rosters, recharges, and performance reporting to the Provider
• Lead HR processes including recruitment, supervision, appraisals, and staff development
• Ensure Mental Health Act, MA and DoLS compliance and lead administration
• Lead policy development and service improvement in line with national guidance
• Coordinate on-call, business continuity and out-of-hours arrangements
• Maintain and update care documentation, risk registers, and action plans with HIW

Key requirements

• Current registration with NMC, HCPC, or Social Work Wales
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to achieve
• Substantial post-registration mental health leadership experience
• Experience leading regulated health or social care services, HIW registration desirable
• Strong knowledge of Independent Health Care Regulations 2011 and HIW standards
• Proven budgeting, operations and workforce planning capabilities
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for a large multi-disciplinary team
• Commitment to Active Offer and Welsh language services
• Understanding of Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010, and Mental Capacity Act 2005
• Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain
