Commercial Director (Renewable Energy)

Overview

In this role, you will own the commercial direction for the Renewables division, focusing on onshore wind projects through pre-construction. You join a respected, growth-focused company and act as a senior member of the leadership team, shaping commercial performance and project economics. You will drive feasibility, budgeting, procurement, contract management and mobilisation to ensure projects are financially robust and construction-ready. This is an autonomous position with significant impact on the company’s renewable portfolio and growth trajectory.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the commercial direction for the Renewables division across pre-construction activities
• Lead feasibility and project appraisal, budgeting, procurement strategy, contract management and mobilisation
• Manage costs, timelines and commercial risks; ensure financial viability and timely progression
• Oversee due diligence and monitor financial performance; collaborate with engineering and project teams for construction-readiness

Key requirements

• Experienced commercial leader at Director level or senior equivalent (Commercial Manager/Lead ready to step up)
• Strong track record delivering pre-construction renewable energy projects, particularly onshore wind
• Solid experience in budgeting, procurement, contract management and programme delivery
• Knowledge of renewables sector; solar knowledge advantageous
• Based in/near Glasgow with ability to travel to sites as needed
