Project Surveyor (High End Residential) | 60,000 – 65,000 + package | Permanent | SW London

Overview

You will maximise gross margin on building contracts by coordinating procurement, subcontracting, and contract accounting, working with the Contracts Manager on cost control and timely payments. Based in SW London, you support delivery of high‑end residential projects from new builds to refurbishments, ensuring outstanding quality and client satisfaction. The role blends commercial control with hands-on procurement and valuation activities, contributing to project profitability and final accounts. This is a client‑facing, detail‑driven position in a reputable contractor known for quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Meet contract programme and prepare tender packages with subcontractors
• Maintain project records and manage subcontract tenders and awards
• Check and approve subcontractor payment claims
• Liaise with subcontractors to resolve queries
• Assess and cost variations and maintain the Variations Account
• Formulate contractual claims and submit final accounts
• Prepare monthly valuations and cost/value reconciliations
• Manage procurement and buying gains reporting through project lifecycle

Key requirements

• Ideally degree qualified or other relative qualifications
• Minimum 6 years’ experience with a reputable main contractor on similar projects
• Residential project experience (new build and refurbishment)
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Fully conversant with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Working knowledge of programming and/or project management software
• Current driving licence
• Able to commute to SW London
