CAD Designer

Overview

In this role you will support the Drawing Office to deliver accurate engineering drawings for a large project portfolio, contributing to the transition from ED2 to ED3. You will create 2D drawings and 3D models for transmission and distribution work, while ensuring safety, quality, and environmental standards. You will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to keep drawings on schedule and aligned with design change processes. Responsibilities

• Produce 2D drawings and 3D models for transmission and distribution projects
• Develop feasibility and detailed design drawings to support delivery
• Ensure outputs meet health, safety, quality and environmental standards
• Manage workload and deliver within agreed timescales
• Maintain drawing databases and support controlled design change processes
• Review and assess drawings during approval stages
• Promote drawing standards, procedures and QA requirements
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders providing progress updates
• Support continuous improvement within the Drawing Office

Key requirements

• Experience producing engineering drawings and models within a utility, infrastructure or engineering environment
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk tools (Revit, Civil 3D)
• Understanding of drawing standards, quality processes and health and safety requirements
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
• HNC in Computer Aided Design or equivalent industry experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other Autodesk design software
• Full UK driving licence with site attendance capability
