MTUK – Lead Motion Designer

Overview

In this role, you will set motion art direction and shape concepts from early thinking to final execution. You will blend storytelling, visuals, and motion craft to drive brands forward within a cross-functional team. You contribute ideas, mentor peers, and deliver end-to-end motion content that aligns with brand guidelines. This is a chance to work at DEPT’s Marketing & Technology service, shaping dynamic campaigns for ambitious clients and exploring new formats and AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead motion design across projects, translating concepts into animated and video content
• Own end-to-end motion design process: concepting, storyboarding, animatics, execution, final delivery
• Support both motion and static graphic design as needed
• Collaborate with designers, art directors, and creatives to develop motion systems and treatments
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level motion designers
• Manage multiple projects with quality and deadline discipline
• Stay updated on new tools and formats, including AI-assisted workflows
• Present creative rationale to internal teams and clients when required

Key requirements

• Solid experience as a Motion Designer or similar role
• Strong showreel or portfolio
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience in video editing; interest in sound design
• Solid graphic design principles and art direction sense
• Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with teams
• Clear and fast communication
• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Love of learning new formats
