Overview

In this role you design, model, and optimize geothermal heating and cooling solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, sustainable systems that meet technical and regulatory standards. The position focuses on applying deep foundation and MEP knowledge to scale the Hiperpile-based geo-energy solutions. You’ll engage in multidisciplinary challenges and have the chance to influence innovation in the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer geothermal systems, including ground-source heat pump configurations, loop fields, and distribution systems
  • Perform site assessments, feasibility studies, and energy modeling using industry-standard tools
  • Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for installations
  • Conduct thermal response testing and analyze geological and hydrogeological data
  • Work closely with project managers, drilling teams, and construction partners throughout project life cycles
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, and sustainability objectives
  • Troubleshoot system performance issues and provide technical support during commissioning
  • Contribute to R&D initiatives to enhance system efficiency and innovation

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  • Experience in geothermal system design or HVAC engineering (GSHP experience desirable)
  • Proficiency with design and simulation software (LoopLink, GLHEPro, AutoCAD, Revit, EnergyPlus)
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
  • Familiarity with drilling processes, ground-loop installation methods, and hydrogeology
  • Excellent problem-solving and clear technical communication
  • PE license or willingness to pursue one (preferred)
