Quality Controller – Components

Overview

In this role you ensure product and process quality for Safran Nacelles components. You will inspect products, verify compliance with drawings and specifications, and manage non-conformances to support customer and regulatory requirements. You work with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to drive improvements and reduce non-quality costs. This is a center-of-excellence environment where you help sustain high quality across manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape quality outcomes on aerospace programmes.

Responsibilities

• Inspection & Compliance: perform product and process inspections against drawings and standards; record results and maintain quality documentation; validate conformity prior to release
• Non-Conformance Management: identify, investigate and record non-conformances; support containment; participate in root-cause investigations and corrective actions; support concession reduction
• Quality Improvement: apply quality tools and problem-solving techniques; monitor quality performance; drive continuous improvement across manufacturing
• Safety & Compliance: ensure adherence to quality, regulatory and HSE requirements; follow procedures; escalate safety or process concerns

Key requirements

• Time-served apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) in a relevant field
• Product and process inspection experience
• Strong understanding of GD&T and datum systems
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience with metrology and inspection equipment
• Knowledge of non-conformance management and anomaly investigation
• Root cause analysis experience (5 Why, Ishikawa, RCA, 8D)
• Understanding of quality standards and QA processes
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, process sheets and work instructions
• Knowledge of Sheet Metal and/or Heat Treatment processes
• Experience using SAP Quality Module
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Quality software packages knowledge (unspecified)
