Overview
In this role you will provide technical advisory support for waste infrastructure, guiding clients through feasibility, design, and risk assessments. You will lead project work, collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers to deliver high‑quality consultancy. You’ll help shape waste treatment strategies while aligning with safety, legislative, and best‑practice standards. Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice on waste treatment processes and technologies
- Lead and manage projects and liaise with clients (UK and internationally)
- Review engineering documents (P&IDs, PFDs, equipment schedules, specs, mass/energy balances)
- Produce feasibility/scoping studies and technical due diligence for investment decisions
- Prepare basis of design documents and technical specifications
- Assess facilities against H&S, legislation, best practice, user requirements, budgets and timelines
- Mentor and coach junior engineers; foster cross‑discipline collaboration
- Lead and manage bids, tenders, and project work within internal and external teams
Key requirements
- Degree qualified engineer with broad technical capabilities in process, mechanical, electrical or related fields
- Willingness to travel for project delivery
- Good knowledge of waste treatment processes and technologies; hands‑on experience preferred
- Up‑to‑date with waste industry developments, legislation and best practice
- Excellent report writing and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven ability to mentor junior engineers
