Occupational Health Advisors (Pipeline for current and future openings in the UK)

Overview

As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will deliver a full range of OH duties, including case management, health surveillance, and mandatory medicals across sectors such as rail and safety-critical roles. You will support employee health and wellbeing, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external providers. The role offers remote case management and onsite service delivery through Abbott’s OH network. You will work to ensure compliance with health legislation and industry standards while advancing workforce wellbeing. This position offers variety across medicals, surveillance, and wellbeing services within a leading healthcare company.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a full range of OH duties including case management
• Conduct mandatory, regulatory, and general medicals (e.g., rail and safety-critical medicals, train drivers medicals)
• Perform health surveillance and wellbeing services
• Carry out medicals and surveillance activities (audiometry, spirometry, HAVS, skin assessment, etc.)
• Participate in sample collection for drug and alcohol testing with chain of custody protocols
• Stakeholder management and coordination with clients and internal teams

Key requirements

• Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Occupational Health and Part 3 of NMC Register
• Evidence of continual professional development
• Desirable: Hand Arm Vibration qualification and experience with chain of custody sample collection
• Ability to carry out medicals/surveillance including audiometry, spirometry, skin assessment, HAVS and safety critical medicals
