MEP Health & Safety Manager

Overview

As Health & Safety Manager, you will own the safety function on a flagship Data Centre project, leading a team of Safety Advisors and collaborating with clients and senior leadership. You’ll ensure compliance, drive a proactive safety culture, and support continuous improvement across the project. This role places you at the heart of risk management, stakeholder engagement, and safety performance on a complex construction endeavour. Responsibilities

• Lead health and safety activities across a major Data Centre project
• Manage and support a on-site team of Health & Safety Advisors
• Serve as primary client H&S contact, maintaining stakeholder confidence
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies and client requirements
• Conduct audits, inspections and incident investigations with corrective actions
• Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements and H&S docs
• Promote safety culture through engagement, coaching and leadership
• Provide regular reporting to senior management
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business

Key requirements

• Proven H&S Manager experience in construction or MEP
• Previous experience on Data Centre projects (essential)
• Strong client-facing relationship skills
• NEBOSH Diploma preferred; NEBOSH Certificate with relevant experience considered
• Solid knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practices
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management
• Ability to influence site teams and drive behavioural safety
• Ambitious, proactive and motivated to progress within a growing business
