Responsibilities

• Lead project teams delivering bespoke algorithms and AI solutions for clients across the sector
• Conceive core data science strategy and design robust software architectures for engagements
• Mentor a small group of data scientists and support their growth
• Partner with commercial teams to shape project scope and feasibility
• Contribute to thought leadership via courses, public speaking, or open-source projects
• Ensure best practices across the project lifecycle to ensure high-quality delivery

Key requirements

• Senior experience in a professional data science role or quantitative academic field
• Fluent Python programmer with NumPy and Pandas, and experience with a deep-learning framework (PyTorch)
• Deep expertise in core data science paradigms (supervised/unsupervised, NLP, validation) and ability to develop new algorithms
• Leadership mindset focused on growing technical capabilities and fostering collaboration
• Commercial awareness with client-facing experience and ability to translate business problems into rigorous mathematical terms
• Strong project planning, feasibility assessment, timeline estimation, and leading teams to deliver on tight schedules
