Resources & Planning Manager – Propulsion

Overview

As Resources & Planning Manager, you lead a Propulsion Service Engineers team in Glasgow, ensuring the right skills are available at the right time. You’ll drive planning, delivery quality and people development, shaping how we provide propulsion field services. You’ll work with internal stakeholders to optimize resources and uphold safety, quality and environmental standards. This role offers a chance to influence operational excellence and customer experience within a global marine services team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Propulsion Service Engineers team
• Manage service delivery activities and resource requirements
• Support competence development through coaching and training
• Promote first-time-right quality and rigorous preparation
• Monitor team performance and drive continuous improvement
• Ensure processes and tools align with QHSE requirements
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support planning and service delivery
• Build a high-performing, trust-based team and promote accountability
• Contribute to action plans to achieve business objectives
• Promote Operational Excellence and strong customer experience
• Uphold Wärtsilä purpose and values in daily work
• Plan resources for Field Service Orders
• Optimize use and availability of Field Service personnel (visas, medicals, travel docs)
• Maintain the Field Service Resources planning board
• Provide clear initial instructions and information for task execution
• Ensure team receives necessary information to meet Operations expectations

Key requirements
