Principal Formulation Scientist

Overview

You will lead and shape formulation projects at Jealott’s Hill, aligning with Syngenta’s mission to deliver innovative crop protection solutions. You will influence technical directions within the site’s formulation community and drive IP generation across projects. You’ll deepen Agrochemical formulation expertise while supporting science and technology strategy. This role offers meaningful impact in developing scalable formulations that support sustainable agriculture.

Responsibilities

• Define project plans and deliver a portfolio of formulation projects independently
• Influence the technical direction of others within the site formulation community
• Identify opportunities to generate broad IP in your projects
• Support and influence science & technology strategy at the site/department level
• Develop extensive technical knowledge in formulation technology and grow agrochemical industry knowledge

Key requirements

• First degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline
• PhD or relevant industrial experience in formulation science
• Fluent in English, written and verbal
• Basic knowledge of project management
• Hands-on laboratory work with a proven track record of safe, independent, efficient work
• Basic knowledge of data science with skills for experimental design and data analysis
