Mental Health Practitioner – Early Intervention Team

Overview

Join MPFT’s Early Intervention in Psychosis team as a Band 6 Mental Health Professional. You will support individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis, applying a bio/psycho/social approach in a diverse community setting. You will act as care co-ordinator for a defined caseload, developing care plans with service users, families, and the MDT. You will work autonomously on clear cases and escalate complex needs to senior staff. Responsibilities

• Assess referred individuals and collaborate with the service, families, and other professionals
• Act as care co-ordinator for a clinical caseload and contribute to team meetings to address service users’ needs
• Work as an autonomous practitioner, agreeing care plans with service users and the MDT
• Refer to team leader or senior practitioners for high-profile or very complex cases
• Support cross-team and cross-setting care delivery (community, home visits, GP surgeries, inpatient settings)

Key requirements

• Registered mental health professional (e.g., Nurse or Occupational Therapist) on the relevant professional register
• Extensive post-registration experience with adults with mental health difficulties
• Experience in assessing, planning, coordinating, and managing people with mental health problems in a community setting
• Experience engaging with individuals who have complex mental health needs
• Desirable: Psychological interventions qualification (CBT, EMDR, CAT, DBT, Family Therapy)
