Senior Credit Controller

Overview

In this role you will lead cash collection for a diverse client base within Bidwells’ Central Finance team, owning complex debtor accounts and driving timely payments. You will partner with internal stakeholders to resolve disputes, assess credit risk, and support process improvements. The position offers a clear pathway to team leadership as the function expands, while you remain hands-on in day-to-day credit control. You’ll work in a collaborative, growth-focused environment at a leading UK property consultancy that values ownership and high performance. Responsibilities

• Managing overdue debt collections across a diverse portfolio
• Owning complex and high-value debtor accounts
• Building relationships with clients and internal stakeholders for timely payments
• Investigating and resolving disputed debts
• Issuing debtor statements and maintaining collection records
• Identifying bad debt risk and provisions with the Finance Operations Director
• Reviewing and approving new client credit applications
• Ensuring accurate cash allocation within NetSuite
• Mentoring less experienced team members
• Supporting process improvements, reporting, and projects in the Credit Control function

Key requirements

• Significant Credit Control experience in a fast-paced commercial environment
• Proven debt recovery track record
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Key stakeholder management experience
• Strong organisational skills with multiple priorities
• Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems
• Proactive mindset and willingness to go beyond day-to-day duties
• Interest in mentoring colleagues and future people management opportunities
