Project Controls Manager – Water/Utilities

Overview

As a Project Controls Manager you will lead programme controls for major infrastructure work in London, ensuring accurate plans, cost data, safety and performance reporting. You will coordinate control processes under GRIP guidance and align with Programme Controllers to support delivery. You’ll review proposals, plan resources, and provide day-to-day reporting support to Programme and Project Managers, driving data quality and investment planning. Responsibilities

• Lead the programme controls function for infrastructure projects in London
• Establish and maintain control processes per GRIP guidance at project level
• Monitor plans, costs, safety, environment and performance reporting for accuracy and consistency
• Optimize allocation of controls team resources across the programme
• Review new project proposals/remits to develop realistic resource plans
• Identify and liaise on resourcing requirements with planning functions
• Provide efficient day-to-day reporting support to Programme and Project Managers
• Ensure data inputs to cost and performance systems meet data standards
• Produce Investment Plan and comply with the Investment Competence Framework

Key requirements

• Experience in planning and scheduling functions including schedule development, control and analysis
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with PC operating systems and multiple software applications
• Proficiency with Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction and startup processes
• Knowledge of engineering and construction management
