Overview

In this role you support the Client Design Authority to ensure civil infrastructure is safe, compliant and fit for purpose within a high-hazard, regulated environment. You will contribute to engineering design packages, PSR deliverables and safety-focused assessments, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust solutions. You shape safety culture and act as an Intelligent Customer to verify contract outputs meet standards. This position offers exposure to major, global projects in a trusted, nuclear-focused setting.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering design package specifications, production and assessment for infrastructure
  • Perform plant walkdowns and produce PSR deliverables
  • Specify reliability requirements and constraints for safe, efficient operations
  • Assess work control procedures for maintenance per safety and engineering standards
  • Evaluate design, materials, equipment qualification and ageing to ensure continued safe operation
  • Champion safety and security culture across activities
  • Serve as Intelligent Customer ensuring safety-related outputs meet contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contractors to deliver high-quality solutions

Key requirements

  • Experience in design assessment of reinforced concrete and steel structures under dynamic loads (earthquake, blast, wind, etc.)
  • Experience with reinforced concrete and steel marine structures (jetties, waterfront)
  • Ability to produce robust technical justifications for civil/structural design modifications in a high-hazard environment
  • Apply engineering principles across lifecycle stages in nuclear/high-risk settings
  • Use general and specialist engineering knowledge to apply existing and emerging technologies
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management

  • Reinforced concrete and steelwork design assessment
  • Dynamic loading analysis (earthquake, blast, wind, rain, snow)
