Overview

In this Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role, you will lead mechanical building services projects within a global, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. You will guide projects from inception to completion, mentor junior engineers, and liaise with architects and developers to shape robust building services solutions. The role focuses on detailed design, reporting, and surveying, with potential to progress to principal/associate as the team expands. You will work in complex infrastructure and pharmaceutical sectors, applying your technical leadership to deliver impactful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Manage detailed design, reporting, and surveying of mechanical building services.
• Coordinate with architects and developers from inception to completion.
• Communicate technical detail to non-technical audiences in client-facing contexts.
• Manage your own projects and drive delivery to meet client expectations.

Key requirements

• At least 6 years in mechanical building services design.
• Experience managing your own projects in a client-facing role.
• Confident communicator with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Hevacomp is ideal; knowledge of CAD and REVIT is beneficial.
