Senior Construction Project Manager, EMEA Construction

Overview

In this role you oversee the construction of AWS data centers, guiding cross-functional teams through scope, schedule, and budget to deliver resilient, scalable facilities. You’ll interface with general contractors, review civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and commissioning work, and ensure safe, cost-effective delivery. You will shape project outcomes from bid to turnover and support commissioning to enable reliable data center operations. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction related activities for new builds and capital projects, including scope, schedule, and budget ownership
• Direct engagement with general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure efficient project handovers
• Lead bid evaluations and contract negotiations, and prepare project scopes and RFPs
• Manage capital requests and financial analysis related to construction work, including change orders and invoicing
• Drive construction projects aimed at increasing data center resiliency
• Review electrical and mechanical designs for new builds or optimization of existing facilities
• Conduct construction submittal reviews and implement commissioning plans
• Record and report key construction metrics to team and leadership
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment or electrical failures
• Act as a technical and organizational leader within the group and with partner teams
• Role based at data center sites with possible international travel
• Occasional international travel may be required in this role

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Experience in construction of data center delivery, mission critical facilities, or equivalent industrial/manufacturing facility builds
• Ability to interface with contractors and manage complex construction processes
