In this senior role, you will lead high‑value energy projects within a Bristol team focused on the energy transition. You’ll blend regulatory advisory work with transactional support across renewables, storage, and power markets, while mentoring junior lawyers. Responsibilities
- Deliver commercially focused regulatory and market design advice across the UK energy sector
- Draft and negotiate grid, offtake, and optimisation agreements
- Lead negotiations and manage complex project workstreams
- Support multi‑disciplinary teams on transactional mandates
- Produce thought leadership and client training on emerging market issues
- Contribute to business development and client relationship management
- Ensure effective supervision, mentoring and development of junior team members
Key requirements
- Significant experience in energy regulation and commercial/transactional work
- Strong understanding of grid, offtake and market design issues
- Excellent drafting skills and ability to simplify complex regulation
- Confidence leading negotiations and engaging with technical and commercial stakeholders
- Collaborative approach and proven experience supervising junior lawyers
