Lead Data Scientist – Fintech

Overview

In this Lead Data Scientist role, you will steer the data science function within a growing fintech client focused on consumer lending. You will own end‑to‑end credit modeling initiatives, from data infrastructure to model development and monitoring, shaping the credit risk capabilities of the business. You’ll lead a small team in a startup‑style, flat culture and collaborate across disciplines to deliver impactful insights and scalable solutions. Responsibilities

• Manage and run the Data Science team
• Build a new data warehouse
• Develop a new set of credit models
• Work across existing credit models including scorecards, propensity models, and IFRS9 models
• Develop challenger models to improve the modelling suite
• Monitor and report on models and oversee the modelling process

Key requirements

• 7 years of Data Science experience
• At least 1 year in credit modelling
• Strong SQL
• Strong Python/SQL or R
• Strong understanding of data warehousing
• AI tooling
• Good understanding of Credit Bureau Data
