Construction Associate Director – Bristol (Sr Non Contentious)

Overview

Senior level construction role within a leading non-contentious construction team in Bristol. You will advise energy and energy transition clients on complex contracts (EPC, BOP, supply, O&M) and lead high-value negotiations. You will shape procurement strategy, risk allocation and contract structure while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams across planning, real estate and finance. You will manage contract and operational phase support and collaborate with the contentious team on disputes. Responsibilities

• Lead high-value, complex non-contentious construction matters
• Draft and negotiate EPC, BOP, supply and O&M contracts for renewables, energy storage, wind and grid projects
• Lead negotiation meetings and guide client stakeholders
• Advise on procurement strategy, risk allocation and contract structure
• Collaborate with regulation, planning, real estate and project finance teams on multi-disciplinary projects
• Provide contract management and operational phase support (variations, claims)
• Collaborate with the contentious construction team on defects and disputes
• Act for leading clients (developers, investors, utilities, energy operators)
• Support wider team growth and business development

Key requirements

• Significant experience in non-contentious construction at Associate Director level
• Strong experience negotiating FIDIC and NEC-based agreements, EPC and O&M contracts
• Confidence in leading negotiations and supervising junior lawyers
• Experience on complex, multi-party matters, especially within project finance structures
• Excellent technical knowledge and commercial awareness
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and client relationship skills
